Colonies

Cultures in progress & established colonies!

Armadillidium

Large and adventurous Isopods, these pods enjoy being above ground and exploring their habitats. They'll need a bit more space than some others because of this, give them something fun to climb on and they'll show off their amusing personalities!

Cubaris

Small, quick to marble, and often a little shy - cubaris sp. is full of bright and adorably coloured critters! Their cute face and perfect sphere make them a big favourite.

Laevis

Laevis are large isopods with big appetites, big families, and well...big bodies. While the 3 types listed here are essentially the same (aside from colour), Dairy Cows tend to be more bold and adventurous, while Oranges/Wild types are more shy and tend to hide. All are voracious and make great clean up crews, just ensure they have enough food! They might nibble on soft bodied reptiles.

Shipping & Live Arrival Guarantee (LOG)

Thank you for shopping with PixelPods! I take special care to ensure your isopods are packaged securely and shipped safely so they arrive happy, healthy, and ready for their new home. Please read the following policies below before placing your order.1. Shipping Rates & Methods:
- Carrier Options: We ship across Canada using Canada Post or Fedex - depending on the best availability for your shipping address.
- Shipping Days: To avoid packages sitting in sorting facilities over a weekend, we only ship on Mondays & Tuesdays.
- Tracking: A tracking number will be emailed to you as soon as your shipping label is created, so you can ensure you’re able to receive them quickly.
- Winter & Summer Restrictions: Live shipping is weather-dependent. If extreme heat (above 30°C) or extreme cold (below 5°C) is forecasted along the transit route, we will hold your order and ship it as soon as a safe weather window opens.
2. Hold for Pickup:
To protect the health of your isopods, Hold for pickup is highly recommended and may be mandatory during times of temperature extremes.
- Your package will be sent directly to your nearest local post office or courier shop instead of being left in a freezing or sweltering mailbox / doorstep.
- You will receive a notification when it is ready for collection. You may be required to show a valid ID to pick up.
3. Live Arrival Guarantee (LAG) & DOA Policy
We proudly offer a Live Arrival Guarantee on all of our isopods, providing the following conditions are met:
Prompt Pickup:
The package must be picked up or accepted on the first delivery attempt. For “Hold for Pickup” orders, the package must be collected the same day of being checked into the facility.
Accurate Information:
The shipping address provided must be 100% accurate. We cannot guarantee live arrival if the carrier delays the package due to an incorrect or undeliverable address.
DOA Proof
The steps below must be followed before any refund or replacement is reviewed or accepted:
What to do in the event of an unfortunate DOA (dead on arrival):
While rare, shipping live animals always carries a risk. If your isopods do not survive the journey, we will issue a refund or replacement (excluding shipping costs) for any deceased isopods if you follow these steps:
Time Limit: You must contact us within 2 hours of delivery or facility pickup.
Proof Required: send a clear, well-lit photo or a short video of all received isopods (include both deceased and live) inside or immediately next to their original shipping container to [email protected].
Do Not Discard: Do not discard the isopods, contents or packaging until we have reviewed your claim and confirmed your refund/replacement.
Note: LAG covers the cost of the isopods only. Shipping fees are non-refundable, and the buyer is responsible for shipping costs on any replacement orders.
